Lorenzo Sanz, former President of Real Madrid, died at the age of 76.

The Spaniard was admitted to the intensive care unit of a Madrid hospital in critical condition on Tuesday due to a coronavirus-induced lung disease.

Now his son Lorenzo confirms the tragic message on Twitter on Saturday evening: “He didn’t deserve this end and this way. It is one of the nicest, bravest and hardworking people I have ever seen. His family and Real Madrid were his passion. “

The businessman and former goalkeeper was President of the “Royal” from 1995 to 2000, during his tenure he was able to celebrate two Champions League titles. After the eighth triumph in the premier class, Sanz was defeated in the presidential election against Florentino Perez.
