Coronavirus. Employee of a Colomiers nursing home tested positive: confined residents

the essential
A positive case of Covid-19 was detected in an employee of an Ehpad in Colomiers in Haute-Garonne. This agent has been quarantined. Residents have been confined to their rooms and family visits are prohibited.

A few days ago, a suspicion of a Covid-19 case turned out to be positive in one of the EHPAD (accommodation establishments for dependent elderly) agents, Emeraude Anne-Laffont residence in Colomiers near Toulouse. Established since 2010, avenue du Louron, in the Marots district, in Colomiers, the site has 94 elderly people, 80% of whom are native Columérins. It is one of the cheapest retirement homes in all of Haute-Garonne. The management of the public establishment, managed by the CCAS (Colomiers Communal Social Action Center) had isolated it upstream. The officer was placed in quarantine and has still not returned to his workplace.

All negative tests

As soon as the EHPAD management learned of this case, it immediately started systematic screening tests, with all the other agents and residents, as required by the procedure of the Regional Health Agency of Occitanie. All tests were negative. The sanitary procedure requires a new screening campaign on D + 7.

The establishment is awaiting the results of this new series of tests, which will be known later this week. In the meantime, all visits by relatives of the residents are suspended, to allow the residence teams to cope with this important test campaign. As a protective measure, all residents were again placed in a single room until Monday, May 25.

If the tests were negative again, the establishment would return to normal operation next week.
