In the afternoon of this Saturday, President Iván Duque answered the citizens’ doubts about the measures that have been taken in the country due to the crisis generated by the covid-19 pandemic.
So far in Colombia 240,795 cases are reported, of which 112,371 are active. Likewise, throughout the national territory 8,269 have died from the new coronavirus and 119,667 people have recovered.

The president pointed out that since it began the pandemic in the country, 1,379,043 tests have been carried out. And added that of the figures provided by the health authorities the 49.6 percent corresponds to recovered patients.
In the midst of the program, President Iván Duque pointed out that “since March, capacities for carrying out PCR tests to detect the virus have been strengthened” and that throughout the country there are 90 certified laboratories.
The Head of State also reiterated the information that was released this week where the Ministry of Health indicated that people who are asymptomatic or with mild symptoms will not undergo a second test at the end of the contagion period.

On the other hand, the Health Minister, Fernando Ruiz, pointed out that it is already being established what the vaccination plan will be like in the country when access to the covid-19 vaccine is available.
Ruiz assured that the population over 70 years old and people with comorbidities will have priority.
Minister Ruiz also indicated that at the moment it has not been considered to return to a total quarantine, since the Government has detailed information by cities, where it has been possible to establish which are the areas where a targeted preventive quarantine should be considered. .
