Coronavirus: CDMX officials will return until October

MEXICO CITY

The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that “the orange traffic light will most likely continue” next week in Mexico City, this because there has been a daily increase in the number of people hospitalized in the last 10 days.

“The average of the last 10 days is 16 additional beds -of people with covid-19- in all hospitals, which is a low rate, but what should attract the attention of the capital is that it increases, not the number, ”he said at a conference after opening the Bioenergy Innovation Laboratory at the Central de Abastos.

There he explained that, although the mayors will resume a series of procedures, with all the precautions required during the pandemic, local government officials qThey were going to return to work at their offices on next August 10 They will return until October.

Some of the trusted public servants do work in offices and others from home, but the largest group of people in administrative work has been postponed until October.

For his part, the director of the Central de Abastos, Héctor Ulises García, pointed out that from June 16 to date they have been detected 1,400 cases of covid-19 in the health tents where tests are applied, however, when asked how many deaths there have been, he replied “we do not have that information, the local health secretary has it.”

The conference was held after the inauguration of the Bioenergy Innovation Laboratory at the Central de Abastos, which has the capacity to produce 3,000 liters of biodiesel per day from edible oil.

The goal is for the plant, which cost 4 and a half million pesos, to produce enough fuel for 200 RTP trucks.
