For his part, the director of the Central de Abastos, Héctor Ulises García, pointed out that from June 16 to date they have been detected 1,400 cases of covid-19 in the health tents where tests are applied, however, when asked how many deaths there have been, he replied “we do not have that information, the local health secretary has it.”
The conference was held after the inauguration of the Bioenergy Innovation Laboratory at the Central de Abastos, which has the capacity to produce 3,000 liters of biodiesel per day from edible oil.
The goal is for the plant, which cost 4 and a half million pesos, to produce enough fuel for 200 RTP trucks.
