The corona virus is currently causing fear around the world and has already taken the lives of many people. For this reason, suspected cases of corona virus are already being tested, but the tests are time-consuming and involve longer laboratory work. British researchers now want to have found a solution to the problem. Scientists from various universities have developed a portable test device that can be used to identify a possible infection within 30 minutes. All you need is a smartphone and an app. With the help of algorithms for image recognition and artificial intelligence, the device can be used to determine whether a person is infected or not by means of nose and throat swabs. As the researchers revealed, the test devices can still be used within a month. Whether the new devices can actually identify the virus so quickly remains to be seen in the practical test. However, this brings new hope in the current corona crisis.
