Corona study: chemicals in mouthwash could fight coronavirus

Commercially available mouthwashes in their current composition should not be able to prevent the coronavirus, as experts explain, according to the “Daily Star”. Rather, the chemicals used in it should be examined in a study. Professor O’Donnell of the Systems Immunity Research Institute at Cardiff University said: “In test tube experiments and limited clinical trials, some mouthwashes contain enough known virucidal ingredients to effectively fight lipids in similar enveloped viruses.”
