Corona Vaccine Volunteers in Bandung Talk About Side Effects

Karyana Ardi Sumirat (23), a vaccine volunteer COVID-19 Sinovac shared his experiences during the phase 3 clinical trial in Bandung. Ardi is one of 1,620 volunteers selected to be given the vaccine.

Are there any side effects?

According to Ardi, so far until Tuesday (18/8/2020) he has not felt any side effects or complaints after being given the vaccine. It is known, phase 3 vaccine clinical trials COVID-19 Sinovac in Bandung has been started since 11 August 2020.

“The effect is not felt. If for example the effect is reactive, there are symptoms such as fever because it is because his immune system is not fit. For me to this day there are no complaints whatsoever,” said Ardi when contacted by detikcom, Tuesday (18/8/2020) ).

“Indeed, we are also monitored and given a note card, should there be any inflammation or complaint. Later it will be recorded there, so far there have been no complaints, thank God,” he added.

What sensations do you feel after vaccination?

Ardi said that after being given the vaccine, he actually felt that his mind was much calmer and safer from the threat of COVID-19 infection. “It just feels more plong, more enjoyment and calm. If it’s a matter of appetite, it’s just standard, it’s not from vaccines when it’s about that,” he said.

Even so, he stressed that he would still adhere to health protocols even after being vaccinated. Ardi also explained that he would continue the second phase of examination and injection on August 25.

When can this Sinovac vaccine be produced?

According to Bio Farma, vaccine clinical trials COVID-19 Sinovac in Bandung will last for 6 months and is planned for completion in January 2021. Bio Farma also targets this vaccine to be produced as soon as the first quarter of 2021.
