PostNL was able to deliver more parcels again in the third quarter and therefore also achieved more turnover than in the third quarter of last year. The company reports this on Monday. It delivered a total of 16.8 percent more parcels than in the same period in 2019.
This means that growth was slightly stronger than average than earlier this year. In the first nine months of this year, package growth rose by 15 percent, partly as a result of the corona crisis. The company also reports that more packages came from small and medium-sized web stores.
For the holidays, PostNL takes into account an even larger amount of packages: 60 to 70 percent more than at the beginning of this year.
The large quantities of parcels were offset by a smaller amount of mail in the past quarter. The number of letters sent by the company was 10 percent lower. This is partly due to the corona crisis.
All in all, turnover rose by 11 percent in the past quarter, partly thanks to the merger with Sandd. Top woman Herna Verhagen says that the company will again pay out dividend at the end of this year, faster than previously expected.
