The number of corona patients in Dutch hospitals fell sharply from Friday to Saturday. There were still 1,398 patients in hospitals with the corona virus on Saturday, 115 less than a day earlier. It is the strongest drop in one day since early January, the most recent figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) show.
There are 169 patients with Covid-19 in intensive care units, which is 10 more than on Friday. 1,229 corona patients occupy a bed in the nursing wards, 125 less than a day earlier. The number of corona patients in hospitals has been decreasing for four days in a row.
15 new patients with the corona virus were admitted to the ICs between Friday and Saturday, and 136 to the nursing wards. Because more people were allowed to leave the hospitals or have died, the total number of corona patients has nevertheless decreased.
