Corona incidence in Dortmund increases on the third day in a row

Dortmund’s 7-day incidence rose for the third day in a row on Sunday – a novelty in September. Another important number also increased on Sunday compared to the previous day.

In its daily corona update, the city of Dortmund reported 42 new positive corona test results on Sunday (September 26th). Of these, 18 cases can be assigned to eleven families. There are currently 965 people in quarantine.

Since the first appearance of the coronavirus in Dortmund in March 2020, there have been a total of 33,257 positive tests. 31,995 people are considered recovered for the city of Dortmund. According to the health department, 849 people in Dortmund are currently demonstrably infected with the virus.

According to the calculation of the city of Dortmund using the RKI method, the incidence value with today’s figures will be 64.3. The actual value of the RKI will only be available from midnight and is binding from then on – slight deviations are possible until then.

It’s the third day in a row that the city reports a rising 7-day incidence. The last time there was the end of August at the previous high point of the fourth wave. The incidence had fallen almost consistently since then. There were only a few periods when it rose again for a day or a maximum of two days.

Another value also rose again on Sunday: 32 corona patients are currently being treated in Dortmund – one more than on Saturday. In contrast to the incidence, however, this number has been at this level since the beginning of the week. Of these 32 people, 10 had intensive medical treatment, 5 of them with ventilation (both values ​​unchanged from Saturday).

The city did not report any new deaths on Sunday. In Dortmund, 294 people have died as a result of COVID-19, and another 119 people infected with Corona died due to other causes.
