The corona incidence in Berlin continues to stagnate at a value above 80. On September 13, 2021, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days as 84.0.
The incidence has hardly changed compared to Sunday (84.6), Saturday (83.8) and last Friday (84.7). Berlin is only slightly above the national average (81.9). The incidence values are significantly lower in other eastern German states and higher in large parts of western Germany. According to the RKI, 18 new corona infections were registered in Berlin. 198,499 cases of corona infections have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic. The RKI in Berlin did not report any new deaths in connection with Corona. The total number of deaths remains unchanged at 3,602.
According to the situation report on Sunday – there was still no update on Monday morning – the Corona traffic light in Berlin is still twice yellow and once green. The traffic light system is intended to warn if the corona situation develops critically. The three indicators include the seven-day incidence, the proportion of intensive care beds occupied by corona patients and the so-called hospitalization rate. This shows how many people per 100,000 inhabitants were admitted to hospital within a week after being infected with the coronavirus.
