The corona pandemic is still an issue in Hesse. According to the RKI, the seven-day incidence of new infections will increase on Tuesday (March 8th, 2022).
Frankfurt – The Robert Koch Institute has the current Corona-case numbers* for the country Hessen* released. According to this, 8072 new infections were reported on Tuesday (March 8th, 2022). Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the health authorities in Hesse have recorded a total of 1,130,867 people with a Sars-CoV-2 infection.
The country’s seven-day incidence increased from the previous day and now stands at 933.9 (previous day: 919.8). According to the RKI, the number of new deaths in Hesse is 12 (9280 in total).

The case numbers of the RKI may differ from those of the individual federal states. One reason for this is the longer transmission paths between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI’s Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day. The RKI also warns: It could be that the decline in incidence does not reflect the actual infection process, but is the result of an overloaded reporting and testing system. In addition, it could play a role that some people do not have their positive self-test or rapid test clarified with a PCR test. They will then not appear in the statistics.

Hesse has also received new corona rules, and further easing is planned.* At a federal-state summit on Wednesday (February 16, 2022), the heads of the federal states and the federal government around Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) agreed on a gradual, extensive relaxation of the previous protective measures.
