Corona – Great progress: – Be patient

There are many who want to get tested for corona and there is sometimes a long wait for drop-in in Oslo, Oslo Municipality writes in a press release.

The municipality comes with a clear message to the people of the capital:

– Oslo Municipality strongly encourages residents to book test time in advance and show up at the time they have been allocated. You will get an appointment if you have booked, but be patient.

– Cold to stand in line

Those who still want to test themselves on drop-in or mobile devices are advised to travel outside of the most popular times. On weekdays, the three municipal test stations are open from 8 am to 9 pm.

– We ask that residents check opening hours and location for mobile devices on the municipality’s website, says coordinator for tests in Oslo municipality, Silje Thorkildson.

You can check that her.

It is also encouraged that those who are going to test themselves, plan the trip and avoid public transport and taxis if you have symptoms.

– It can be cold to stand in line. We hope everyone can dress for the weather. Then we remind people that they wear bandages and keep a good distance from others, says Thorkildson.

The health service will increase the test capacity also this week, both by adding new test sites, and ensuring as good utilization of the existing test sites as possible, the municipality states.

Long lines

Last week, Dagbladet was able to report long test queue at Grønlands Torg in Oslo. On Monday, people stood in line for up to an hour in the winter cold to test themselves at the mobile test station.

Several had to wait in vain and leave the queue, because the test station did not have the capacity to test everyone before they closed.

“Greenland has had a great progress since they opened, and has recently had to reject and refer patients elsewhere,” test coordinator Thorkildson told Dagbladet.

When Dagbladet visited the test station at Adamstuen in Oslo on Friday morning, there was a lot of frustration to be traced in the queue. The several hundred meter long queue made many people leave the queue, and several asked that children be given priority due to the cold.
