The number of new infections, after the peak of the fourth wave, continues to fall.
Since the start of the pandemic, almost 2 million people have been infected in our country.

Since March 2020, our country has registered 1,999,764 confirmed corona cases. The number of deaths due to Covid-19 is 27,895, while there were all together 94,728 hospital admissions of corona patients.
Meanwhile, after the peak of the fourth wave, new infections continue their downward trend. In the seven days from December 11 to 17, there was an average of 10,974 confirmed corona cases per day, 29 percent less than in the previous week. Covid-19 deaths fell by 8 percent over the same period to an average of 44 each day.
New hospital admissions are also falling further. Over the past seven days, it was an average of 220 per day, a decrease of more than a fifth. There are currently 2,834 corona patients in Belgian hospitals, 761 of whom are in intensive care units.
