MTV This year presents two new categories for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) created due to the corona crisis. Ariana Grande, John Legend and Lady Gaga, among others, have been nominated for these new prizes.
Grande and Justin Bieber have a chance to win the prize for the best video clip recorded at home. John Legend is ahead with his clip Bigger Love also nominated in this category.
The singer also has a chance to win the new prize for the best quarantine performance. Lady Gaga has also been nominated for this. It is about the performance she gave during the special show One World: Together At Home.
Grande and Gaga have both been nominated nine times, making them the leaders. The singers individually have a chance to win prizes, but also have a chance to win a prize for their duet in various categories Rain On Me. The single has been nominated for the prizes for the best music video and the best song.
Billie Eilish and The Weeknd also appear several times between the nominees. They each have six nominations.
The MTV Video Music Awards will be presented on Sunday, August 30. Until then, fans can vote for their favorite artists, clips and songs.
