ALMELO – What do you do as a father and mother with a family of seven children if you cannot find a suitable home in Almelo? Design them themselves and have them built, thought Jeffrey van Rossum and Saskia de Jongh. Their oversized wooden barn house is currently being built in the North East district. Although corona does not make such a construction adventure any easier.

“Look, here is the game room,” the brothers Melle and Siem say enthusiastically. “The bins with Lego and colored pencils will also be there,” says mother Saskia.

The contours of the house on the swampy building plot at Eschauzierlaan 5 in Almelo are visible. The walls of the ground floor are standing. The beam layer and floor slabs have now been installed. “On Friday, the walls for the first floor will be lifted with a crane. It is progressing well ”, says father Jeffrey.
