Cornelia Ninova spoke with Slavi Trifonov before receiving the mandate

We have considered what the approach is and we will start talks with each party and finally we will have a quadripartite meeting, explained the BSP leader

We talked recently with Slavi Trifonov about the government. The position of ITN is very important, without them there can be no stable cabinet and majority. It is important what Trifonov will say, but let him do it personally. The role of the BSP currently belongs to a mediator who must quell the contradictions – Borissov is not to be underestimated. This was said by the BSP leader Cornelia Ninova in the show “The day begins” on BNT before she went to “Dondukov 2” to get the third mandate to form a cabinet.

According to Ninova, the task of the left is to try to find common ground and smooth out the differences between the parties that emerged during the first term.

“We agreed on what and when should be done. Then they came into conflict with the composition of the government. For us, first the policies are important, then the composition. We have a common view that we should have a regular cabinet because of the severe crises. who are waiting for us, “Ninova said.

“Our role at the moment is that of a mediator who has to quell the controversy. We will not offer a ready-made cabinet, Prime Minister. We have kept a good tone and we can talk to everyone. We must try,” she explained.

Regarding the talks for the first term, Cornelia Ninova clarified that the BSP has also expressed reservations regarding one of the ITN candidates. “That’s why we didn’t support them,” she added.

“We need to have talks, agreement, black and white and signatures on what will be done. Then we open the talks for ministers and prime minister. Everyone can propose and decide together. Yesterday we considered the approach of the talks, maybe we will start with each party “Separately and then we will hold a quadripartite meeting. In the first term, this turned out to be a problem. It is important to bring together the party leaders. The moment is so important that responsibility must be taken,” Ninova added.

The BSP leader is adamant that there are arguments why there should be a cabinet.

“I believe that it is possible, I will do my best to make this happen. The three crises – the migrant crisis, the socio-economic crisis, COVID, require a working National Assembly and a cabinet. Real reforms cannot happen without this,” Cornelia Ninova commented.

Regarding a poll in which GERB is again the first political force, Ninova said there was disappointment among the people that the protest parties did not understand each other. “Borissov is not to be underestimated,” she said.

“We are sitting in these talks with the confidence of a coalition that for the last 4 years has been in principle and unwaveringly opposed to the old model of government. We are authentically in favor of changing this model. We have endured. “Parliament has a force that is before the status quo. Maybe, as they are already in parliament, they have justly changed their minds. Our battle with the model has suffered,” said the Socialist leader.
