Corinthians Training for Copa Sudamericana: Key Players Available and Starting Lineup Revealed

On Monday afternoon, at CT Joaquim Grava, Corinthians finished preparing for the next game of the season. Timão faces Fortaleza, this Tuesday, at 9:30 pm, at Neo Química Arena. The duel is valid for the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana semi-final.

The players, as usual, started the day with a physical workout in the gym, inside the training center. Then, the black and white squad was directed to field 3 for a warm-up and, shortly afterwards, they finished with tactical training under the command of coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

After the final adjustments for the match, the athletes began to gather at the Hotel Gildasio Miranda, inside the CT Joaquim Grava, where they will remain until leaving for the Neo Química Arena.

For the duel, coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo has most of his key players available and, therefore, should go to the field with full strength. Given this scenario, a likely Corinthians starting team has: Cassio; Bruno Méndez (Fagner), Gil, Veríssimo and Fábio Santos; Moscardo, Maycon and Renato Augusto; Rojas, Yuri Alberto and Wesley (Pedro).

The absences are made by Roni, Giovane and Paulinho, who remain in the club’s medical department. The first goes through transition after twisting his right ankle, while the attacker is recovering from an injury to the anterior thigh muscle and the last from a torn ACL.

The return duel between the teams is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd, also at 9:30 pm, at Arena Castelão. Before that, Timão has a commitment against São Paulo, for the Brazilian Championship.
