Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan Disappointed with YouTube Video and Takes Legal Action

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan Disappointed with the video uploaded by Haris Azhar in a YouTube video entitled ‘There is Lord Luhut behind the Intan Jaya Economic-Ops Military Relations!! General BIN is also there!!’. Luhut also shook his head with the words of Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanty.

This was revealed in the indictment read out by the Public Prosecutor at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday (3/4/2023). Sitting as defendants Haris Azhar and Fatia.

Initially, the prosecutor said that Luhut was shown videos of Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanty in his office by the assistant for the media field of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Singgih Widiyastono. After seeing the video, Luhut said he was disappointed and felt that his good name and honor were being attacked.

“Witness Luhut Pandjaitan appeared to be shaking his head, apparently feeling emotional and telling witness Singgih Widyastono, ‘This is outrageous, Luhut’s words playing mines in Papua are tendentious, not true and really hurt me’,” said the prosecutor while reading out the indictment at the East Jakarta District Court. .

Luhut also objected if his name was paired with the word ‘lord’. The prosecutor considered the word ‘lord’ to have a negative meaning, in which the nickname lord means lord, king, supreme ruler, having a direct or indirect relationship.

The prosecutor said that Luhut had sent a subpoena to Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanty regarding his disappointment. Summons were filed twice.

“Witness Luhut Pandjaitan still giving the defendant Haris Azhar and witness Fatia Maulidiyanty the opportunity to apologize, but the subpoena was not fulfilled by the defendant Haris Azhar and witness Fatia Maulidiyanty for various reasons,” said the prosecutor.

“Then the witness Luhut Pandjaitan gave the second or final subpoena, but the defendant and witness Fatia did not fulfill the request of witness Luhut for various reasons,” the prosecutor added.

Because the subpoena was not responded to, Luhut also made a report to Polda Metro Jaya. This case was rolled up to court.
