Cooking Oil Prices Really Dropped? Check the Latest Prices Here!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Cooking oil prices have been observed to have experienced a slight decline, after the government closed the export faucet on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Even cooking oil stocks have also been observed to be widely available in the market to modern retail.

Even so, according to the retailer, the decline in cooking oil prices was due to promotions.

“If you say because of the current conditions, there is an export ban and the price has not come down yet,” Secretary General Aprindo Solihin told CNBC Indonesia, some time ago.

He added that the decision to give a price discount is sometimes the result of cooperation between the retailer and the principal owner of the goods. Or, continued Solihin, the store is considering a high stock position.

“Yes (there are many factors underlying the price discount promo program at retail). What is clear is that we have standard margins. For fast moving goods, it is difficult for us to take large margins. Especially price sensitive goods such as cooking oil and sugar. I don’t want to shop with us anymore,” said Solihin.

At the beginning of the year the price of cooking oil reached Rp 20,150 – 20,500 per kilogram depending on the brand. The price of bulk cooking oil reached Rp. 18,650 per kilogram.

Continued until March the price of cooking oil jumped to Rp 22,200 – 24,000 per liter, and 18,950 per kilogram.

Then in April the price of cooking oil rose again to Rp 26,400 – 26,950 per liter and bulk cooking oil Rp 19,900 per kilogram.

Today, May 6, 2022, the price of cooking oil at Alfamidi in the Captain Yusuf area, Bogor, West Java, is still high. Where for cooking oil prices range between Rp 20,700 – 22,300 per liter.
