Chief Sports Officer of Ajax, Maurits Hendriks, often faces heavy criticism from the media, but it also seems to be bubbling within the club. According to Henk Spaan, Ajax icon Sjaak Swart recently made a slightly derogatory comment to CSO.

“Recently Swart said: ‘Hey, do you still work here?’ to him at the Toekomst,” Spaan says in Het Parool. “Then you are not very comfortable in the group, of course. Hendriks cannot cope well with losing, but his dark side constantly forces him to make decisions that make winning extremely difficult. It is a form of self-destruction that you see more often.” Spaan tells us about Hendriks’ work at Ajax.
Earlier, Ajax watcher from De Telegraaf, Mike Verweij, also came out with strong criticism of Hendriks. He would definitely not be appreciated within the club, the club watcher said Podcast Kick-Off. “He is hated on The Future. He has everything overruled to bring in Sven Mislintat.”
