Controversy Erupts Over Engagement of Egypt’s Youngest Couple at 13 Years Old

Al-Marsad Newspaper: Social media pioneers shared a number of photos of the engagement of the youngest couple in Egypt, which sparked widespread controversy.

The pioneers of the communication sites said that the age of the newlyweds is 13 years, and they criticized them because of their young age.

In the same context, Abdo Negm, the youngest groom in Egypt, said: “I am 17 years old from Ismailia Governorate, and my fiancee is named Menna Qadri from Cairo, she is 17 years old, and we are not related.”

He added, during a telephone interview on the “Tahrir Hall” program on the “Sada Al-Balad” channel: “Me and Menna Qadri, my fiancee, are singers, singing, and we met at a party, got to know each other, and made videos with each other.

He added, “We will not get married now, but I, praise be to God, sing with a band, and open two houses, our house and my brother’s house, and with me a band of 25 people. I am the one who spends on them.”
