Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Center of the General Authority of Meteorology, announced that the temperatures will continue to rise in conjunction with the heat wave that is taking place in most parts of the Republic, due to our being affected by the extension of the seasonal India depression on the surface of the earth, which carries very hot air masses that pass over the Mediterranean.

A member of the Media Center of the Meteorological Authority added, in a telephone interview to the “Good Morning Egypt” program, broadcast on “Channel One”, that the upper layers of the atmosphere are affected by an air elevation that significantly increases the periods of sunshine. Which leads to high temperatures and humidity levels.

And she pointed out that the wave of high temperatures began last Thursday and continues throughout this week and the next, and that the continuation of high temperatures for long periods is unusual, and she continued, saying, “The weather is very hot and humid in most parts of the Republic,” and the maximum temperatures on the day are expected to be 38 degrees Celsius, which is the temperature measured in the shade, but the tangible temperatures that we feel as a result of high humidity will be 40 degrees Celsius and 41 degrees Celsius, and with direct exposure to sunlight we feel higher temperature values than that, and during the night periods, especially with the absence of sunlight A drop in temperature occurs.

She added that the weather is witnessing a relative calm of winds in most areas, and the calmness of wind speeds makes us feel damp during the night periods, which makes us feel the high temperature during the night periods, but the weather is somewhat moderate in the morning periods in most of the governorates of the Republic, and it is expected that water clouds will form on most of the agricultural, highways and nearby roads. For water bodies, confirming that the water mist leads to a decrease in horizontal vision during the early morning, but it quickly fades with the brightness of the sun’s rays, and today it has disappeared from most roads by 7 am, but it is expected that it will continue to form in the coming days, warning against being under direct sunlight during periods of bright rays the sun.
