The head of the Gunungkidul Health Office, Dewi Irawaty, said the addition of two new cases came from Kapanewon Wonosari. These two female patients are one family. The findings of this case stems from the existence of a family member who was declared reactive while undergoing a rapid test. After searching and testing other family members, it turned out that there was Covid-19 positive. “We are still exploring the nature of the transmission,” Dewi told reporters on Thursday.

With the addition of two new cases, there were 75 positive patients in Gunungkidul, with details of 22 patients still undergoing hospital treatment, one patient died, and the remaining 52 people were declared cured.

Dewi added, until now medical officers in Gunungkidul have taken specimen tests on 1,114 residents. In addition to the certainty of 75 positive cases, the remaining 971 people were stated negative. “For the remaining 68 specimens are still waiting for laboratory test results,” he said.

The Head of Prevention and Control of the Gunungkidul District Health Office, Sumitro, said his staff continued to carry out tracing to suppress the spread of Covid-19. In addition, the DHO also maps the vulnerability of spreading the virus. “Epidemiological studies are conducted every two weeks,” he said.

Sumitro said, for testing the target was changed.
