Contact investigation at Amstelveen primary school after second Corona infection

Amstelveen – The new (second) Corona infection in Amstelveen that became known today appears to have been detected by a member of a Amstelveen family. The GGD carries out a contact investigation; A primary school in Amstelveen is involved in that research.

For privacy reasons, the municipality does not reveal which primary school is part of the study. The parents and guardians of the students of the school in question were informed by letter this afternoon and were therefore informed. All this appears from an update from the municipality of Amstelveen.

Investigation is ongoing
“The investigation into the source of the infection of the person of Amstelveen has not yet been completed,” the GGD reports. “The contact investigation is ongoing and everyone who has been in contact with this person has been mapped and informed.”

Home insulation
The infected family member currently resides in home insulation. For safety’s sake, the family members of the infected person also stay at home. The GGD states that there is no reason to believe that the virus will spread through the school.

So far 7 infections have been reported in the Amsterdam region, 2 of which in Amstelveen. One person from the Amsterdam region has since recovered.
