Consultations for respiratory illnesses drop despite the weather

Respiratory disease rates are down, the above reported by the Director of the UMF No.9

Frontera., Coah.- A notable decrease in consultations for respiratory ailments is what has been reported so far in February, the above reported by the Director of the UMF No.9 of the IMSS at the border, who assured that the consultation for this type of disease is going down.

Alfredo García Flores, Director of Clinic 9, said that normally 40 consultations are carried out a day, however, even with the cold front that hit the Region in recent days, these consultations were not with patients with these diseases.

“Daily we attend 40 consultations, however during the week there were very few due to respiratory diseases, even the cases that are attended through the special area to detect Covid, also decreased.”

He explained that thanks to the fact that the members of the community are protecting themselves more from the low temperatures by sheltering themselves in their homes, it is being achieved that even the cases of Covid in the municipality decrease, for which I urge the community not to lower their guard.

“We are registering few cases of respiratory diseases and Covid are minimal, it is very important that people continue to protect themselves and that they go to their family medicine unit to get vaccinated, either against influenza or against pneumococcus, since with this protection they will avoid having respiratory complications ”.

He said that while the Covid vaccine arrives for the community, it is vitally important that people protect themselves, drink plenty of water and foods rich in vitamin C, since this way they will be able to arrive healthy at the application of the vaccine that will allow them to have an immunity against virus that has caused the death of many people.
