Considered Nantangin, Seconds of the Director of Krakatau Steel Expelled by Commission VII DPR

Jakarta

President Director (Director) of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk Silmy Karim expelled from the meeting of Commission VII DPR RI. Silmy’s expulsion from the House of Representatives Commission VII meeting began with a discussion about the blast furnace. This is how Silmy gets kicked out.

The chairman of the House of Representatives Commission VII meeting, Bambang Haryadi, initially admitted that he was confused by Krakatau Steel’s policy regarding blast furnaces. This is because, according to Bambang, the President Director of Krakatau Steel wants to stop the operation of the blast furnace factory, but also wants to strengthen domestic steel production.

“I was a little bit like this too, a bit confused too. Earlier, Mr. Dir (Director of Krakatau Steel) said the blast furnace was stopped because of a loss, right?” said Bambang in the DPR Commission VII meeting at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (14/2/2022).

Then Bambang mentioned the action of the President Director of Krakaktau Steel asking the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) about the blast furnace. After that, Bambang again questioned the desire of the President Director of Krakatau Steel who wanted to stop the blast furnace factory from operating, but also wanted to strengthen domestic production.

“Earlier, the President Director said it was profitable. It is clear that one of these blast furnaces has been operating, it has been acknowledged here since July 11, 2019. In a moment, Mr. President Director. So it is acknowledged that it has been operating and there is a spirit like the spirit of our President, who wants to strengthen domestic steel production, ” said Bambang.

“What I’m unique about is how the factory for this blast furnace is stopped, but on the one hand, we want to strengthen domestic production,” he added.

Bambang then made the statement ‘the thief shouted the thief’. The Commission VII meeting was heated because the President Director of Krakatau Steel immediately cut Bambang’s statement.

“This is not ‘the thief screaming thief’, you know. Don’t let us play along, pretending not to play,” he said.

“What do you mean thief, sir?” said Silmy in reply.

Bambang did not accept that his statement was cut by the President Director of Krakatau Steel. It was at this time that Bambang, as chairman of the meeting, expelled Silmy.

“Please first, respect this trial. There are trial technicalities. How come you never respect the Commission. If you can’t speak here, you’re out!” said Bambang.

The President Director of Krakatau Steel then responded to Bambang. He stated that he was willing to leave the meeting room. “Okay, if we really have to go out, we’ll go out,” said Silmy.

Silmy’s response sparked a reaction from a number of members of Commission VII DPR. There was a member of Commission VII who considered the President Director of Krakatau Steel to be challenging.

“Leader, in order to maintain our dignity, we have this trial, he has challenged it, so just leave,” said a member of Commission VII.

Bambang could not hide his annoyance. The DPR member from the Gerindra Party faction even said that the President Director of Krakatau Steel had insulted parliament.

“You have contempt of parliament,” said Bambang, pointing.

The President Director of Krakatau Steel apologized. Read on the next page.
