Considered Harassing Hinduism, the MV How You Like That Blackpink is condemned

VIVA – K-pop girl group Blackpink broke YouTube records for the most watched music video or music video of all time, through their highly anticipated new single, How You Like That.

But the happiness of the YG Entertainment girl group seems to be withheld, because the video clip caused controversy in fandom aka K-pop kingdom fans, according to Allkpop.

Some fans noticed that the use of the statue of the Hindu God, considered sacred, was used as a buffer in the music video.

It was considered not respecting religion and the gods, so K-pop fans urged YG Entertainment to provide an explanation as well as apologize.

Besides being considered as a form of blasphemy, this can also give a negative image to the members of Blackpink, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa. Although they are not responsible for the set in the video clip.

While some fandoms respectfully ask agencies to avoid such negligence that could adversely affect their artists, this is not the first time a K-pop agency has been accused of insulting religion and culture. Fans all over the world consider that the agency must be responsible.

For information, the music video for Blackpink’s latest song, How You Like That, released on Friday, June 26, 2020, at 18:00 KST (Korean time) or 16.00 WIB. In just 11 hours, the video clip broke the YouTube Premier record, reaching 50 million views.

The previous record was held by BTS, where the music video is a song Boy With Luv their possessions can reach 40 million views within 10 hours 8 minutes. Not only that, music video How You Like That also immediately occupies the number 1 trending position on Youtube, to this day, Sunday, June 28, 2020.
