Congresswoman dies in car accident

Two cars were involved in a car accident near Nappanee, Indiana, on Wednesday. Four people were killed, reports say ABC 57.

All three in Walorski’s car, as well as a 56-year-old woman who was alone in the other car, lost their lives.

The accident happened at 12.32 local time. The Washington Post writes that the accident happened when the other car veered to the left of the middle lane and collided head-on with the SUV in which Walorski was sitting.

Walorski’s congressional office confirms the accident:

“Jackie’s husband was just informed by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office that Jackie was killed in a car accident this afternoon. She has returned home to be with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. We ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. We have no further comment at this time.”

The Republican Walorski has represented the second election district in the Senate since 2012. She previously worked as a TV reporter and as a missionary in Romania, where she worked with her husband to give children and medicine to poor children.

Walorski lived to be 58 years old.
