A majority of the Dutch (56 percent) is still in favor of the monarchy. Participants of the panel do think that the royal couple should learn from the mistakes.
Máxima is more popular than her husband: 61 percent have confidence in her, against 54 percent in King Willem-Alexander.
Corona rules violated
The king and his wife are especially blamed for mistakes during the corona crisis. For example, in December there was a fuss about a party for Princess Amalia, where more guests were than was allowed under the corona rules.
Earlier in the corona crisis, a holiday by Willem-Alexander and Máxima caused anger. This is how they kept themselves on holiday in Greece not at the 1,5 meter rule and they went on a trip while the Dutch were urged to stay at home.

After taking office in 2013, the king could count on the support of 80 percent of the Dutch. That percentage has decreased in recent years, with this poll as the low point.
