Richard Dubra’s new double concert is a new version of a previously written kokle concert. “A long time ago, I wanted to turn a concert once written for kokle with a chamber orchestra into a concert for harp and chamber orchestra. played, “says Richard Dubra about his work. “Long-term and very productive cooperation with the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra allowed my wishes to come true and also encouraged me to make this music a practically new piece of music, because in addition to the harp solo, there are also percussion instruments in this concert.”
The musicians of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, to whom the concert is dedicated, will perform in the premiere works – percussionist Marta Kauliņa-Pelnēna and harpist Dārta Tisenkopfa-Muselli. Opus is named Concert for two ladies/Concert for two ladies.
The Liepāja Symphony Orchestra has a long history of collaboration with Rihards Dubras, which in 2019 culminated in a co-created Latvian original opera Suiti saga. By order of the orchestra, Rihards Dubra has written the Third Liepaja Concert for Piano and Orchestra and the Second Symphony of the Latvian Centennial Symphony Cycle.
The Liepaja Symphony Orchestra will also perform the First Symphony of Jean Sibelius and the symphonic poem of the Estonian composer Heino Eller in a concert conducted by Risto Josta on December 3. Dawn.
