In this edition of North America Link, we go to New York, a city where homicides with firearms have increased by 80% since 2019, many of these have been committed with one of the almost 4,500 illegal weapons that arrived from other states from the south of the country, such as Georgia, South Carolina or Florida. How does the population feel about this increase in armed violence and what is the solution to the insecurity crisis? We will know the answers in this program.
We will also explain a new term that is generating great debate in the community: Latinx, ending in “x”, it is a word that was born as a result of a gender-inclusive cultural movement to incorporate the cultural expressions of Latin Americans in the United States. .
