Conade Director Proposes Allocating Pan American Games Support to Otis-Affected Victims in Guerrero

Ana Gabriela Guevara, director of Conade, assured that she sent a proposal so that the support that would reach the athletes for the Pan American Games be allocated to those affected by Otis in the state of Guerrero.

In her talk with the media, the board stated that she sent a letter to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador with her idea, although she has not received a response from the president.

“The president has not changed the amount, I think it will be the same, the president has not given the instruction yet. I sent a card to the president with the possibility that, derived from what is happening in Acapulco, the appeal could be exempted, but we have not had a response nor has an amount been set,” said Ana.

Furthermore, Guevara assured that this support is an exception and is not something guaranteed for athletes.

“There may be a possibility, we must remember that this stimulus is not from the CONADE resource, it does not work on the resource granted for the exercise, it is an exception made by the president, therefore, it is a resource that will have to be taken as has been done in recent years,” he assured.

In that sense, Ana Guevara assured that she has already spoken with the president to support the victims.

“It was for work. In fact, I had a meeting with the president this week trying to see these details of an administrative nature, the logistics of the possible stimuli and the work to follow, we even saw part of next year’s budget for the Olympic Games, the planning of the next fiscal year anus”
