Competition for LinkedIn? Twitter launches professional profiles to use the network for corporate and work purposes

Twitter has officially launched a test of its new type of profile called Professional Profiles whose objective is to allow companies, professionals and creators to show specific information to potential clients. A resource very similar in its purposes to the LinkedIn network.

Twitter Business has posted an image showing what the new profile looks like, with a short description that reads: “Do you like our new look? Today we are launching an exciting test of a new type of profile called Professional Profiles! ”

Kayvon Beykpour, Twitter Product Lead, has launched an additional hype, saying that “Businesses will soon be able to distinguish themselves on Twitter with different attributes on their profile!”

Businesses will be able to display their address and a map of their location directly below the number of followers. However, according to Baykpour, Twitter will soon implement more business-friendly features.

The profiles will also have a link to the web and the opening hours to the public. On the other hand, it has two buttons: one to obtain directions and another to contact the company directly. The profile also appears to be verified.

Right now, Twitter is testing professional profiles with just a handful of business owners in the United States, and It will be released to a wider audience to follow in the coming months.
