Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Firas Al-Abyad, announced that 14 companies selling medical supplies have been transferred to the Public Prosecution Office for price manipulation and market monopoly. Al-Abyadh stressed, during a tour of the dialysis, cancer and cardiac dialysis departments at Nabih Berri University Hospital, that the market will be opened to companies to compete and the supplies will be available in the market to stop monopoly. The Minister of Health pointed out that all patients of Sidon Governmental Hospital were transferred to Nabatieh Governmental Hospitals, Jezzine and Bint Jbeil, to ensure their safety and complete their treatment. Al-Abyadh indicated that there was significant damage to Sidon Governmental Hospital.
