Common Force of Fernando Atria formalizes its entry into the Broad Front | National

The party in formation, led by the constitutional lawyer Fernando Atria, intends to influence the constituent process and has already begun its recruitment campaign to establish itself as a party.

After an internal plebiscite, Fuerza Común (FC) decided to officially join the Frente Amplio (FA).

This Sunday, 36% of the affiliates supported the decision through a virtual platform.

Of the total number of participants, more than 80% supported the option of integrating the Frente Amplio coalition with a view to the constituent process on October 25.

The party, led by the constitutional lawyer Fernando Atria -who resigned from the Socialist Party in 2019 due to his differences with the helmsman Álvaro Elizalde- emerged with the mandate to be part of said process and, joining the coalition, they believe that their possibilities of influencing will be more spacious.

From Tricel, Raúl Letelier, its president, described the process as “historic” for the party, and emphasized FC’s democratic stamp and with a territorial vision.

For Atria, on the other hand, he highlighted the categorical result of the result, a fact that shows “the complete disposition to join with enthusiasm in the construction of a transforming left”.

In the internal, the party in formation has already started its recruitment campaign, with the objective – as explained in a statement – of building a party with generational diversity and gender equality.

In short, after the incorporation was made official, Catalina Pérez, president of the Democratic Revolution; Gael Yeomans, of Social Convergence; Lorena Fries, from Unir; Jorge Ramírez, from Comunes; and Luis Felipe Ramos, from the Liberal Party, celebrated the arrival of Fuerza Común to the Frente Amplio.
