President Commissioner (Komut) of PT Pertamina Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) abolished credit facilities for commissioners to Pertamina managers. A member of Commission VI of the DPR RI from the PAN faction, Eko Hendro Purnomo alias Eko ‘Patrio’, warned that funds for credit would flow to other facilities that were not necessary.
“I see that the credit card facilities provided by Pertamina from the Commissioner to the Manager level have no relevance to the company’s performance. Of course there will be considerable savings potential if this credit card facility is no longer available. If you really want to spend for the company’s needs, of course you can carried out administratively by the company,” said Eko to reporters, Wednesday (16/6/2021).
Eko hopes that the fees from the deleted credit card facilities will not run to non-essential facilities. He gave an example of a booming official money.
“You also need to be careful not to delete this credit card facility, but instead the costs run to other non-essential facilities. Exploding official travel costs, for example in the midst of COVID-1 like this, in my opinion, can be a potential for efficiency Pertamina,” he said.
The chairman of the DKI Jakarta PAN DPW hopes that SOE Minister Erick Thohir will also review credit facilities at other SOEs. Eko also encourages SOEs to make improvements.
“It’s also good that the Minister of SOEs can also see this. Maybe there are many SOEs that provide credit card facilities to their officials. In my opinion, this is also a momentum for internal SOE improvements and has the potential to make SOEs’ budgets more efficient and of high quality,” he said. Eko.
Ahok Asked Not Only to Manage Credit Cards
Eko also hopes Ahok as Komut, it’s not just about credit cards. This is because there are still many other problems that must be addressed within Pertamina.
“But of course, I think the more important challenge is to encourage fundamental efficiency within Pertamina. The commissioners should not only talk about credit cards whose numbers are not necessarily significant for the company’s operations. But try to show and prove what efficiency steps have been achieved, especially after formation sub-holding at Pertamina. Try to show what percentage of efficiency has been achieved and its impact on the company’s profitability,” he explained.

Pertamina still has a lot of homework to do, said Eko. One of them is the Pertamina refinery fire that occurred repeatedly.
“I think Pertamina’s other homework is also a lot and requires serious attention for the Commissioner so that it can be resolved quickly. Examples of Pertamina’s refinery fires that keep repeating also have the potential to add a large cost for revitalization.
