Newcastle United remain entrenched at the foot of the Premier League table.
After 13 games, the Magpies have yet to win a game this season.
Their last loss was a 2-0 loss at Arsenal, but there was a big positive for Newcastle.
An hour before kick-off, Eddie Howe eliminated Karl Darlow from his first eleven and named Martin Dubravka between the sticks.
Darlow made a mistake in last week’s 3-3 draw with Brentford at St James’s Park.

And if it weren’t for Dubravka, the score would have been much worse for Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium.
And this is what Jim Beglin, speaking at Optus Sport, made of the decision:
He said: “Dubravka seems like a very good decision for Eddie Howe to skip Darlow. He was certainly to blame for Brentford’s first goal and hesitated throughout that game.
Okay, it’s not very positive, because United is at the bottom of the table and six points away from safety.
But Howe will be absolutely sure that Dubravka is his number one goalkeeper in the future and that is an important discovery.
Scoring goals is huge for Newcastle, but so is keeping them out and at least the 43-year-old coach knows which goalkeeper is his best option to do so.
