In the south of Ukraine, the commander of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, Colonel Vitaly Gulyaev, died.
It is noted that under his leadership, the fighters of the 28th separate mechanized brigade fought off attempts to land amphibious assault forces of Russian invaders in the Odessa and Nikolaev regions.
Also, Ukrainian servicemen stopped the enemy attack on Nikolaev, pushed back the invaders and liberated the settlements of the Kherson region.

Ukrainian war correspondent Andrey Tsaplienko suggested that Odessans name one of the streets of the city in his honor.
“Vitaly Gulyaev, the first commander of the famous 13 baht 58 brigade. Last September, he led the 28 Odessa brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. And yesterday, July 23, he died in southern Ukraine. Each new step towards Kherson is hard. He did everything to bring victory closer,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
It is known that Vitaly Gulyaev took up the post of commander of the Odessa 28th brigade in September 2021. He has been on the front line since 2014.
