Comet Neowise shows itself Inland

The large chunk of ice and stone will pass Earth at a distance of about 100 million kilometers later this month, but can already be seen clearly with the help of a camera and ideal conditions. It is a bit trickier with the naked eye, but it is possible.

The comet, named after the satellite it discovered in March, is visible to us despite that immense distance because of the huge tail of dust and ice hanging behind it. It should be just above the horizon in the north or northeast this month. The best time to spot it is just after sunset or just before sunrise.

Neowise, officially named C / 2020 F3, is not a one-time visitor to our solar system. However, the comet describes an orbit that brings it near Earth only once every more than 7,300 years. He has passed the sun and is now on his way to the outer edge of our solar system. After this month it disappears from sight again, for the next 73 centuries.
