At mid-season, the sporting record is satisfactory with this 5th place and this good start to the year?
Yes, the results are good, the objective remains qualification and we are clearly within the transition times. We are well settled in the qualifying wagon despite a difficult end to the year and the disappointment against Oyonnax, but we recovered very well in 2023 in Carcassonne and against Biarritz.
The objective remains unchanged so qualification is in sight?
Yes, qualification is the club’s goal and the half at home is the president’s goal (he smiles, editor’s note). We are not far from it, we have to reach 4th place and there are still 12 games left. Well that’s my ambition, the goal is above all to play the final stages it would be the 3rd consecutive time which is already beautiful for a club which has the 9th budget of Pro D2.
Already 4 more recruits announced and not the least, your ambition being beyond this season?
Yes will join us Simutoga (prop, Bourgoin), Pinto (winger, Pau), Dulon (winger, Carcassonne) and Herron (opener, Biarritz) and then this week is dedicated to individual interviews with the staff in order to take stock of the players at the end of their contract and those who can retire. Regarding the future, we can also rejoice in the excellent results of the Espoirs who are first in their group!
This good news on the pitch is also accompanied by the finalization of major projects concerning the club’s infrastructure?
Yes, it’s progressing there as well. The synthetic pitch will be delivered next week and we are also moving forward alongside the town hall with regard to putting a roof on it. We have also started thinking about the creation of a technical center still in connection with the town hall. Finally, the terrace project overlooking the main pitch will be inaugurated in the spring, it will be one of the most beautiful Pro D2 boxes.
