Collaborative Jazz Septet: Stylistically Diverse International Jazz Event in Riga’s Cultural Space ‘M/Darbnīca’

Stylistically diverse international and also innovative domestic jazz evenings will take place in the cultural space “M/Darbnīca” in March. A special event will be on March 1, when the joint project of Lithuanian, Polish and Finnish musicians “Collaborative Jazz Septet” will perform there.

“Collaborative Jazz Septet” is a collective based in Lithuania, specializing in authentic jazz inspired by bebop and hardbop. The band consists of trumpeter Mindaugas Vadoklis, alto saxophonist Karolis Šarkus, tenor saxophonist Donatas Petreikis, trombonist Jievaras Jasinskis, pianist Tuomas Korhonen, double bassist Mariusz Prašnievskis and drummer Augustas Baronas. At the concert in Riga, the third studio album of “Collaborative Jazz Septet” “Man of Culture” will be presented – the group’s debut album was released at the end of 2020, but in 2022 the vinyl record and the video series “That Groove” were released.

You will be able to hear Lithuanian jazz in “M/Darbnīkis” also on March 6, when trumpeter Dominikas Visņauskas and baritone saxophonist Dovidas Stalmokas will perform there, offering US west coast jazz melodies and exciting rhythms. Our own double bassist Edvīns Ozols and drummer Artis Orubs will provide that for the Lithuanian duo.
