Coldplay will stop making albums after 2025 | show

Bad news for Coldplay fans. The band will not continue to make albums for years to come, according to singer Chris Martin and revealed that the last record the band makes will be released in 2025. Martin made this known in an interview with BBC Radio 2.

,,After we have made our last album, I think we will only go on tour. We may occasionally collaborate with someone, but as far as the Coldplay catalog is concerned… it will not be expanded further,” said Chris.

The British band’s debut album, Parachutes, was released in 2000. Their last album will therefore be released on the occasion of their 25th anniversary, which Chris believes is a good time to put an end to making albums. Coldplay has made nine studio albums to date, the last of which was released in October. It features collaborations with Selena Gomez, We Are King and BTS.

A world tour is planned for next year, although it is questionable whether it can continue due to the increasing infections with the omikron variant of the corona virus. The band last toured in 2016 and 2017.
