CoD: CDL Atlanta (Stage 1; Week 1)

Here’s a recap of everything since day one of the 2021 CDL season.

Yesterday we saw the first Call of Duty League games of the 2021 season. With some great games and our first 100 point clubs of the season, here’s everything that happened on day one.

Los Angeles Thieves 3-1 Minnesota Rokkr

In one of the group’s most important games, LA Thieves faced Minnesota Rokkr. Attach came out swinging, with a 1.33 K / D in the first card, losing 32 kills. However, the rest of the Rokkr lagged behind in the killing, allowing Kenny and Slasher to dominate with their 1.14 and 1.22 K / D respectively. The 250-194 score could have been more dominant over the Thieves, but as Rokkr tried for a comeback, the Thieves held on for the win.

Minnesota Rokkr didn’t surprise anyone with this Search and Destroy victory. Their 5-1 lead almost collapsed, but Rokkr held on with 1.80 K / D from Accuracy and Priestahh. Control returned the momentum to LA Thieves, with a rare Garrison Control attack victory seeing them win 3-1. Temp was the starting factor in this match with his 1.31 K / D and clutch play seeing him capture A on the last lap.

LA Thieves rounded out the club’s first 100 point of the year by winning 250-60 over Moscow Hardpoint to take the series 3-1. Yet another individual excelled with TJHaly by putting up a monstrous 1.73 K / D. However, this was a full team performance with all LAT players posting a 1.00 K / D or more.

Dallas Empire 3-0 Seattle Surge

The second 100-point club came directly after the first. While not as dominant at 250-98, the Dallas Empire has completely passed through Seattle. Huke proved his talent once again with a whopping 35-18 in Map 1, showing he could be even more of a key player than he was in 2020.

Dallas continued their dominance in seek and destroy, winning 6-2 with ease. Shotzzy’s outstanding turn showed the class difference between the teams, and his 10-5 performance put Dallas 2-0 in the series.

The momentum continued as the Dallas Empire closed the series 3-0 after a 3-1 controlling victory. Shotzzy performed again with a whopping 2.10 K / D, taking the Empire to a clinical 3-0, continuing his form since winning the 2020 Championship.

The Call of Duty League continues, with three more days of action this week.
