Cocoeur – Clémentine Maubon and Bastien Lefèvre – Going out in Marseille

I would so love to show you how I beat!

Clémentine Maubon & Bastien Lefèvre undertake a study of the heart, certainly as an organ, but also as a simultaneously concrete and symbolic interface between emotion, effort and the body. How to transcribe the word of a heart? To be the translator of one’s own heart?

Together the two choreographers-performers, whose journey began with intensive sports practices, submit to a fictitious, sonorous beat, audible to all or only to themselves, or even visual, whose tempo evolves and varies. Following the rhythmic injunctions deployed between extreme feverishness and gentle slowness, the possibilities of movement develop differently, constrained or liberated. This beat acts as an act of presence, a pointing of the moment T, an order to be here and now, together and without escape. Cocœur makes the pulsating organ the link between the intensity of feelings and that of the art of dance.
