COAHUILA ADVANCES IN SPECIALIZED CARE AGAINST CANCER – La Prensa de Monclova

+ Centro Oncológico ‘Salvador Chavarría’, of the Secretary of Health of the State, cares for the population suffering from different types of cancer

Since the opening of its first stage, the “Salvador Chavarría” Cancer Center, of the Ministry of Health of Coahuila, maintains its high quality care for adult patients with any type of cancer, who do not have any type of medical service.

Roberto Bernal Gómez, Secretary of Health of the entity, reported that this center has maintained its operations without rest since last July 8, the date of restart of its operations and medical care through high technology and supplies in the Southeast Region of the state.

“Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís gave us very clear instructions that we have followed to the letter, which are to attend to all those patients who do not have some type of medical security and who need cancer care through doctors specialists, support staff, medications and infrastructure necessary for their treatments, ”said Bernal Gómez.

He indicated that the Oncology Center has granted 322 highly specialized consultations, among which are Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology and Oncological Gynecology to patients in a vulnerable state, and without being beneficiaries of any medical institution.

In the breakdown of these consultations, Bernal Gómez explained that from the period of July 8 to 31, 157 of these highly specialized consultations were granted, with Gynecology Oncology being the most demanded by the population.

While from August 1 to date there are 165 consultations in this Cancer Center located in Saltillo.

TREATED CANCER

Likewise, the head of Health in Coahuila announced that the 6 main pathologies treated have been breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, lung cancer and colon cancer, in addition to offering 30 medical consultations for emotional support at the moment.

Eva Lucía Willars Inman, Director of the “Salvador Chavarría” Cancer Center, mentioned that this great effort by the State Government has been very well received by the population, who have appreciated the medical attention, consultations and medicines offered free of charge. .

“In this time we have applied 81 chemotherapies to patients who attend their medical treatments regularly,” he mentioned.

Willars Inman stressed that this Cancer Center keeps its doors open to the entire adult population, who do not have social security and are in a vulnerable situation.
