The Serbian Igor Kokoskov, 48, left the Orlando bubble where the rest of the 2019-20 NBA season and his job as assistant coach at the Sacramento Kings are played out in order to be present for Fenerbahçe’s preseason with who he signed a coaching contract to replace his compatriot Zeljko Obradovic.
“I would like to congratulate Igor on his promotion to Fenerbahce’s head coach and thank him for his time with the Kings,” said Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton. “He has been a valued member of my coaching staff and his natural ability to guide our players will continue to inspire the team as we move forward in Orlando. We wish him the best.“
Igor Kokoskov, who was European champion with Slovenia in 2017, is also the new coach of the Serbian national team.
