Immediately upon announcing his departure, the board of directors already designated a successor. The current chief technology officer or technical director, Parag Agrawal, will assume the role of CEO from now on. He will replace Dorsey immediately. Dorsey will remain on the board until the shareholders’ meeting in 2022. “I have great confidence in Parag as Twitter’s new CEO. His work over the past 10 years has been innovative. I am very grateful for his skills, heart and soul. It’s time to lead,” Dorsey said.
