The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Indira Alfonzo, announced on the afternoon of this Wednesday, August 26, that the board of the electoral body decided a new extension for the registration process of candidates to 6-D until September 4.
Alfonzo explained that the decision does not affect in any way the development of the electoral schedule. “It is for the sake of guaranteeing the highest political participation and plurality” that the decision is made, declared the head of the Electoral Power.
This is the second extension that has been approved since the electoral date of a process that in principle should end on August 16, which was later extended until this Wednesday 26-A and that will now last until September 4.
So far 103 national and regional political parties have confirmed their participation in the parliamentary process on December 6, when 277 deputies will be elected to the National Assembly.
