Despite the announcement of the director general of Borussia Dortmund, Thomas Meunier should not finally find PSG and finish the season with Parisian colors according to Le Parisien.
A simple announcement effect but nothing more according to the regional newspaper Le Parisien, this is how we could sum up the crazy possibility of seeing Thomas Meunier in the colors of PSG as suggested by its new general manager Hans -Joachim Watzke. This Sunday morning, the latter did not hesitate to explain to German television that the Belgian side, officially player of Borussia Dortmund since Friday, was considering the idea of ending the season with PSG anyway.
The tone was affirmative and the words disturbing while the player even said goodbye to the club, his teammates and supporters on social networks and there should ultimately be no return according to Le Parisien. Meunier did make a short trip last Friday to the Camp des Loges but it was only a courtesy call and he did not take part in any training. Not enough to imagine either an unlikely reversal of the situation.
The player also has another concern with regard to the players who will be provisionally extended, namely the fact that he is now under contract with Dortmund from July 1 next. The Belgian’s salary has largely increased with this new contract and it would now be up to PSG to assume it (Editor’s note: Le Parisien announces that Meunier should reduce his salary to return to Paris, which is not possible a contractual point of view). The two clubs would also have to find an agreement for a two-month loan, notably Paris which should compensate Dortmund.
A scenario which is hardly conceivable from a financial point of view which is hardly any more in terms of image and should therefore remain a crazy statement by the leader of Dortmund.
